Senator Ron Johnson Talks Re-Election, Part 5

Tuesday, October 18th, 2016 -- 11:41 AM

-Senator Ron Johnson’s campaign reached out to me recently and I spoke with the Senator about his re-election this November.

Senator Johnson talked in more detail about certain issues, including Obamacare.

"Well, we have to repeal it. I mean, Obamacare has been a disaster. The three main promises, if you like your healthcare plan, which certainly Senator Feingold engaged in that promise, if you like your doctor you can keep him. This has not been true. It was considered for fraud. President Obama said if you enact his healthcare reform, families would pay up to $2,500 less per year and premiums just skyrocketed. We're hearing from hundreds of Wisconsinites who premiums double and tripled. Their out of pocket maximums and deductibles have doubled and tripled. They've lost healthcare plans the liked and could afford. They've lost access to doctors that new and trusted."

"So, it's got to be repealed. If we can't repeal the whole thing because we don't have Democrats working with us on that, what we'll have to do is start doing things like repealing the individual mandates. Getting rid of the Cadillac tax and turn insurance regulation and the definition of mandated coverages back over to the state where you actually can open up the kind of competition to restrain cost increases and improve quality and access and levels of customer service. So, Obamacare has just been a disaster. Senator Feingold is proud of his vote. He says people are pretending that it's worse than it is. They're not pretending. These are real Wisconsinites that have been really harmed by one of the 65 votes he provided to pass."

Coming up on Wednesday, Senator Johnson will make his final appeal on why voters should vote for him in November.
