Citizens Employment Training Looking for Interested Seniors, Part 1

Monday, October 10th, 2016 -- 11:34 AM

-Citizens Employment and Training Inc. is looking for interested seniors in Clark County to join their program.

I spoke with Tammy Redetzke and she explained the program in more detail.

"Well, this is a really great program. We are based out of Eau Claire. We service 8 counties in Central Wisconsin and currently we are looking for seniors that are 55 and older that are low income and could use training in different areas. We place seniors in schools, food pantries, day cares, libraries; most of our seniors are doing either cleaning or office work. So, if you're unemployed and live in Clark County and you're income eligible, we could possible place you in a non-profit or government agency to work 20 hours a week at minimum wage and this is paid through a federal grant. And so, it's a really great opportunity to receive some current job history and skills and, currently, we have slots to fill in Clark County and so if this is something that you maybe have interest in we do have brochures and applications at the Neillsville Job Center."

Coming up on Tuesday, Tammy will explain the people eligible for the program.
