Committee Reports at Neillsville City Council Meeting

-The Neillsville City Council spent most of their meeting on Tuesday of last week hearing the various committee reports.The council heard the report from the Beautification Committee Meeting held on September 14th. They approved 2017’s planters and baskets with a suggested donation of $45. They also approved spending an additional $1,000 on 3-4 additional planters, up to $300 for fall decorations and up to $600 on winter decorations. They also discussed the holiday decorations for this winter. Finally, they approved the 2017 budget at $1,700.
The council also heard the report from the Historic Preservation Commission Meeting held on Wednesday, September 14th. They order 150 of the 2017 Historic Calendars and selected several businesses to sell them. They also discussed the 2016 Christmas Tour of Historic Homes. They have begun advertising and are mocking up tickets and posters. They also heard information on a poster that’s going into the city’s new kiosks. Finally, they approved the 2017 budget at $1,900 and to pay $72 to Sunnybrook for the placement of a new post a Barr’s.
