The Hannah Center of Marshfield Receives donation from Security Health Plan's Monthly Employee Driven Corporate Giving Camp

The Hannah Center of Marshfield will receive $1,000 from Security Health Plan’s Monthly Employee-Driven Corporate Giving campaign, funding dedicated to organizations such as the Hannah Center that make a healthy difference in their communities.Founded in 1993 as a home for pregnant women who could no longer stay in their homes, the Hannah Center now opens its doors to any women (and their children) who are in a time of crisis.
The Hannah Center provides residents with a temporary home and the opportunity to learn the life skills needed to make a positive change. The donation will support the not-for-profit Center’s mission, supplying for the everyday living expenses of the up to four families housed in the Hannah Center.
Residents’ goals aim towards the long-term outcome of independent living. To reach this outcome, Fancher helps connect residents with community resources, including life skills classes taught by Hannah Center volunteers and opportunities for formal education. The women contribute to caring for the home as they learn; they are selected for residency based on their readiness and desire to follow the Hannah Center’s program, as well as for the fit between their needs and the Center’s resources. A resident advocate remains at the home at all times with residents, offering emotional support, resources and compassion. Residents generally remain in the home for six months to a year while they work towards genuine change.
