Report of Officers at Neillsville City Council Meeting

-The Neillsville City Council heard the Report of Officers at their meeting last week.

For July 2016, the department had 140 complaints, 62 service calls, 46 traffic citations, 90 traffic warnings, 3 crash investigations, 15 ordinance citations, 13 adult arrests, 6 cases referred to the D.A., 2 juvenile cases and 18 parking citations. Overall, July of 2015’s numbers were higher. For notable activity, the department said the 4th of July and Heritage Days was quiet for officers in the city. Chief Klueckmann also stated they have about 30 applicants for the vacant position left by Officer Bembnister who is now working for the Sheriff’s Department. Those applicants will also be used to fill a position that will be left by Officer Aumann as he’s decide to leave the law enforcement field and go back to school.

Some other notable activity included a tire slashing case, a domestic disturbance, a Greenwood man arrested for his 8th OWI, a burglary at MMC Auxiliary Thrift Store, the return/removal of a vicious dog and the passing of a Neillsville resident after their life alert pendant had been activated.
