Administrators' Reports at Owen-Withee School Board Meeting (Elementary & High School)

-The Owen-Withee School Board heard the Administrators’ Reports at their meeting last week.Elementary Principal Lance Batchelor told the board that nine members of the elementary staff attended a workshop at CESA 10 put on by Eric Jensen, entitled, “Engaging Students with the Poverty Mind.” He also relayed that the PLC/RtI Leadership team will be meeting to set the agenda for the first semester and that the elementary open house will be held on Wednesday, August 24th from 4 to 6 PM.
Middle/High School Dean of Students Julie VanArk reported that the football scrimmage was held on August 13th, the volleyball team will scrimmage on August 22nd and the Cross Country team will scrimmage on August 23rd. Students will be mailed their 2016-17 class schedules and invited to attend a session on August 22nd from 9am??"3pm or August 23rd from 2pm??"7pm to make schedule changes. This will hopefully alleviate some of the chaos on the first day of school. Seventh Grade orientation night will be held on August 24th starting at 6:30 PM. This will also be the Jr./Sr. High open house from 6:30pm??"8:30 PM. On Thursday, August 11th through Sunday, August 14th five FFA Honor Choir and Band members, including Joe Stratton, Kathryn Lampi, Kate Schmelzer, Sierra Renderman and Clancy Albers, performed at the State Fair in Milwaukee.
