ATV Routes and More at Owen City Council Meeting

-The Owen City Council approved the garbage contact at their meeting last week.A detailed presentation on the advantage of going with Express Disposal over the city’s present provider, Advanced Disposal was given. Tim Swiggum reported the UCCC voted to approve the Advanced Disposal proposal and the council tabled the discussion until the next meeting. During the public opinion portion of the meeting there was an inquiry from a concerned citizen about the house at 219 E 3rd Street. They were wondering if it could be condemned or removed. The council also approved the application from the Friends of the Old School for a Temporary Picnic License for August 19th at the Old School.
The council approved to add to the ATV Route Map from: Hwy 29 to County X on DD; Madsen St. to Lehnen St. on County X and Willow Rd. to southern City Limits on County D and they approved to purchase their Clark County Visitors Guide ad for the cost of $300 with Tim Swiggum making needed changes on present ad. Finally, the council heard the CDC’s Report. Along with the three previous items, Tim Swiggum reported the DRC’s 4th Annual Car Show on August 20, 2016 is coming together nicely. Tim also reported he is waiting on the City Attorney for Heartland’s agreement.
