Project Updates and More at Greenwood School Board Meeting

Friday, August 12th, 2016 -- 9:31 AM

-The Greenwood School Board heard some project updates and the Administrator’s Report at their meeting on Monday.

The board received an update on the progress of summer maintenance projects and the shower towers repair project was changed to a replacement project. The board also approved the Substitute Teacher Handbook and received an update on staffing. Finally, District Administrator Todd Felhofer gave his report. He stated that initial work is starting on the 2017-2019 State Budget and it’s likely that, for first time ever, Wisconsin will spend less per pupil than the national average.

He also reminded the board to begin reviewing the 3000’s & 4000’s series of policies for September meeting and to review the Vision Statement, Motto, and Core Values draft. That is a product of the discussions/input from the Board Retreat, the Community Focus meeting and the work done by staff in 2014-15. Mr. Felhofer is asking for board support to eliminate the admission fees to athletic events/drama events for students and children with the rationale being the district should be encouraging students to attend and participate in school events. Finally, he said that feedback on Summer School was very positive and final attendance numbers will be presented at the September Board Meeting; and the Annual Meeting is Monday September 26th at 7:30 pm in the HS Cafetorium.
