Joint Traffic Detail in Jackson County

-The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office and the Wisconsin State Patrol conducted a joint traffic detail at the end of July.During that time, the made a total of 105 traffic stops. They were targeting drug violations on Highway 12/27 between Merrillan and Black River Falls. 20 patrol officers along with K9 teams assisted in the detail. 29 citations were issued, 119 warnings, five warrant arrests, eight misdemeanor arrests and one felony arrest.
Authorities also seized 33 grams of marijuana, 60 grams of edible marijuana, hash oil, ecstasy pills and drug paraphernalia. This joint traffic detail is part of a larger initiative aimed at taking steps to proactively seek out drug violations. These steps are a result of growing concerns from the community about drug violations.
