Scam Targeting Small Business Owners

-If you’re a small business owner in the area, be aware of a new scam claiming to be from the American Chamber of Commerce.In this scam, a business will get a call from someone claiming to be from the American Chamber of Commerce. The caller asks for an employee by name and claims to be updating the business’s listing in their directory. They then ask for basic business information. This may seem harmless enough, but it’s a phishing scam. There is no American Chamber of Commerce and when the scammers have the information, they can use it to commit ID theft or send fake invoices.
Like with many scams, if this happens to your business, just hang up and contact the Better Business Bureau.
