WEDC Dues and More at Neillsville City Council Meeting

Thursday, June 30th, 2016 -- 10:18 AM

-The Neillsville City Council discussed a long list of items at their meeting on Tuesday.

The council discussed the due to the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation as a part of the Connect Communities Program. The Connect Communities Committee agreed to recommend to the Common Council that the dues of $200 be paid. During that meeting, the committee also discussed buildings, new businesses, businesses that closed and potential training classes.

The council also discussed the building of a band shelter and continuation of a dog park. At a Parks and Recreation Board Meeting held on June 15th, a Neillsville Boy Scout stated they would like to build a band shelter in Schuster Park with his intention being to raise the money and build the shelter with the cost estimated between $20,000-$50,000. They also discussed the history of the dog park in Neillsville, why it’s important and why it should continue. The board voted to send both items to the Common Council.
