Hixton Man Sentenced for 6th OWI

-A Hixton man arrested back in December of last year for his 6th OWI was sentenced in Jackson County Court on Monday.According to the Jackson County Sheriff's Department, Adam Skaar drove his pickup truck through a wooden fence in Hixton. He also hit a parked car and hit a mailbox before he finally drove into a field. He failed the various sobriety tests and was arrested. He's also accused of having marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Skaar pleaded guilty to OWI 6th and three other charges were dismissed and read in, one on the prosecutor’s motion. Skaar was sentenced to 1 year in prison and 3 years’ probation. He most also install an ignition interlock device and his driver’s license was revoked for 3 years.
