Administrators' Reports, Communications and More at Owen-Withee's School Board Meeting

-The Owen-Withee School Board heard the Administrators’ Reports at their meeting on Monday of last week.District Administrator Bob Houts notified the board that a donation from the Shirley Witek Memorial Fund had been delivered. When Shirley had passed away, here family had asked that, in lieu of flowers, people send money for the OW Bleacher Fund. Several donations came directly to the school, but the money that was sent to the family was presented last Monday. Finally, a picture of the gym floor layout that will be painted in the gym in July was presented to the board. During the Communications portion of the meeting, the board read thank you cards from Mrs. Julie Plautz for the gift in remembrance of her father’s passing and from Mrs. Nelson for honoring her for her twenty years of service to the district.
The Board also received several hand-made thank you cards from the 4th grade for allowing them to go on their field trip to Madison in May. During the Public Participation on Agenda Items, Mrs. Barb Krug, from Krug Busing, congratulated the Board on making the decision to award the transportation contract to Town & Country. She applauded the choice of staying with the local company. Finally, after discussion about coaches’ evaluations, the Board voted 5-0 to approve the athletic coaches for the 2016-17 school year and, staying in line with the other bargaining units, the Board voted 5-0 to approve a 1.4% increase in the administrative salaries for 2016-17.
