-An Abbotsford man had to be airlifted to the hospital after an early morning crash on Saturday.

The driver of a truck was airlifted after the vehicle he was driving left the roadway and struck two trees on Badger Avenue north of CTH A in the Township of Mayville. The Clark County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call of the crash at about 1:23 am, on Saturday June 18th. Initial investigation indicates a Dodge Ram 1500 pickup was traveling north on Badger Avenue when the driver, Diego D. Zuniga Badillo, 21yrs. old, lost control and entered the east ditch. The roof of the truck struck two trees collapsing the passenger compartment. The operator of the truck was flown by helicopter to the St. Joseph’s Hospital for life threatening injuries.

The Dorchester Area Ambulance and Fire Department, Abbotsford Fire Department, Curtiss First Responders, Marshfield Spirit Air Helicopter and the Taylor County Ambulance Service responded to the scene with the Clark County Sheriff’s Office and the Dorchester Police Department. The Investigation is continuing by the Clark County Sheriff’s Office. Speed and alcohol appear to be factors in the accident. The driver was wearing his seatbelt.
