Support Staff Negotiations Approved by Owen-Withee School Board

-The Owen-Withee School Board approved the negotiated wage settlement with the district’s teacher group.The OWEA Support Staff Negotiations teams met with the Board Negotiations team in mid-May and came to agree on a total wage increase of 1.4% for the 2016-17 school year. .12% will be on base wage and 1.28% will be in supplemental pay. The union approved the deal in May, while the board voted 5-0 to approve at their meeting.
The board voted 5-0 to renew their membership in the WIAA for Jr. high and high school co-curriculars. For the third consecutive year there were no annual dues for membership. Finally, the board approved the date for their annual meeting. To avoid extra meetings and to make the budget process more efficient and accurate, the board voted 5-0 to change the date of the District’s annual meeting to Monday, October 24th. By having the meeting in October, all of the financial information needed to determine the revenue limit and the levy will be in place.
