Clark County Tourism Committee Working on Many Items

-The Clark County Tourism Committee met on Wednesday afternoon at the CCEDC office in Loyal.They discussed the usual items including what’s happening in Forestry and Parks and continued discussing the commercials that were done at the Annual Meeting and whether or not they would like to redo them to use for other purposes. A survey was sent to those that participated in the Bloomin’ Greenhouse Kickoff to see how it went. The Fall Harvest Moon Tour is progressing and they continue to see results from the Clark County ad that was placed in Midwest Living Magazine. They’re also working on the new Clark County Visitor’s Guide.
The committee briefly discussed the economic importance of horse riders to the area and the Ghost Towns project continues to progress as well. They also looked at the revenue brought in by the county sales tax. The numbers are down slightly for this year. Finally, one of the biggest items discussed was the Young Professionals Placemaking/First Impressions project. Moving forward, this project would ask young people to fill out an online survey on what they like about Clark County, what they don’t like, why would/wouldn’t they move back here, etc.
