Neillsville Woman Accused of Stealing Money from Neillsville Business Makes First Court Appearance

Wednesday, June 15th, 2016 -- 10:46 AM

-A Neillsville woman charged with theft of a business setting, for stealing over $170,000 from a Neillsville business, made her first appearance in Clark County Court on Tuesday.

Donna LaValley has been charged with 6 counts of theft of a business setting after the owners of Russell’s of Neillsville discovered that she’d been stealing money from them. An investigation by the Neillsville Police Department determined that she’d been stealing money from May of 2010 to June of 2015. She would take money from the deposits and falsify returns with the amount coming to $170,067.27.

She was formally charged for the incident at the end of April and during her initial appearance on Tuesday, a $1,000 signature bond was set. She also entered not guilty pleas to the charges against her. She’ll be back in court in August.
