Former Town Treasuer of Green Grove Enter Plea for Theft

-The former Town Treasurer of Green Grove, charged with theft of a business setting and misconduct in office, entered a plea in Clark County Court on Tuesday.On April 15th of 2015, the Clark County Sheriff's Office received a complaint from the Town of Green Grove Chairman. The Town Chairman reported that there were some irregularities with the Town's finances. The township had an audit done on their finances and discovered that about $24,600.00 was missing from the books since 2013. The Town Treasurer, Sandra Fritz, left a voice mail message for the Town Clerk asking she not report the missing money and that she would pay it back. Ms. Fritz admitted to taking the money from a savings account without the Town Board's approval and using it for living expenses at her residence. She indicated she made at least 17 cash withdrawals from the Town's savings account.
During her court appearance on Tuesday, she was found guilty of, due to a no contest plea, theft of a business setting. Another charge of misconduct in office was dismissed and read in. A pre-sentencing investigation was ordered and she’ll be back in court on August 16th for sentencing.
