A DNR Grant and Ordinance Change at the Neillsville City Council Meeting

Wednesday, June 15th, 2016 -- 9:36 AM

-The Neillsville City Council only had a couple of items to consider at their meeting on Tuesday.

The council approved the Recycling Grant from the Wisconsin DNR. The amount for this year was $8,852.90 which is down from last year’s $9,356. The also approved the new ordinance for the Trout Pond in Listeman Park. The ordinance states that only children 14 and younger can cast a line into the pond to fish. If people defy the ordinance, they can be fined a minimum of $175.30.

The council also heard that the 1st Draft of the city’s street trees inventory has been done. The number one tree in the city is Ash, which poses a problem with the Emerald Ash Borer drawing closer to Clark County. They also heard the Heritage Days Committee Report from their meeting on June 8th. They heard an update on events, the poster, movie night, the golf outing and more.
