Friends of Sherwood Lake Holding Celebrating the Completion of the Dredging Project Tomorrow at Noon

-To celebrate the completion of the Sherwood Lake Dredging Project, the Friends of Sherwood Lake will be holding a potluck picnic at the lake starting at Noon on Saturday.The Sherwood Dam auxiliary spillway failed in 2014, resulting in a complete drawdown of the lake. The DNR issued a directive to either repair or abandon the dam due to a number of other issues with it. Since that time, the Friends of Sherwood Lake have held numerous fundraisers to dredge the lake before the dam was repaired. Over the winter, Opelt Sand & Gravel completed the dredging and now Terra Construction of Madison has begun to work on the dam. If all goes according to plan, they hope to have the lake back by this fall.
The event on Saturday will show appreciation to those who contributed and supported the project. The group encourages everyone to come and celebrate the restoration of the lake. Please bring a dish to pass, utensils, drinks and a chair.
