Owen City Council Approves Cost to Street Reconstruction Project

-The Owen City Council approved an additional cost to a street reconstruction project at their meeting on Tuesday of last week.A representative from MSA Professional Services presented to the Council for consideration a third alternative for the northeast intersection of County Highway D and County Highway X, as an additive alternate to the E. 4th Street Reconstruction Project. The council approved this at an additional cost of $21,351.25.
During the public opinion portion of the meeting, a council member stated that clean up at Crowley Park is scheduled for May 26th at 5 pm and any more volunteers would be appreciated. Another resident reported that she had requested a video from the Police Department for an incident that occurred on September 4th of last year. She said she's getting two different stories that there is a video and the other story that there is no video. Mayor Tom Nelson said he would discuss it with the Police Department and will get back to her.
