Neillsville City Council Approves Room Tax Funds to Parks and Rec Department

-The Neillsville City Council approved the 30% Room Tax to be distributed to the Parks and Rec Department.During a Parks and Recreation Board meeting on May 11th, the board considered and approved an application from the department for the funds from the room tax which came to $7,088.94. The council also approved the resignation of Tom Betchel from the Historic Preservation Commission, which the commission approved at their meeting on May 19th.
The council approved the distribution of Listeman Funds for various events and projects. The total came to $50,500. $3,500 went to the 4th of July fireworks, $2,000 went to Heritage Days, $25,000 went to the Fire Department’s new rescue van and $20,000 went towards the new bathroom in the park.
