Committee Reports and Communications at Owen-Withee School Board

-The Owen-Withee School Board heard the Committee Reports and Communications at their meeting last week.District Administrator Bob Houts asked the board their feelings on what to do with clerical revisions to board policies. Should those simple, working revisions go through the committee process first, or should they be brought to the board? The feeling of the board was that if the revisions were clerical or editorial in nature, and did not change the actually policy, that changes should come directly to the board.
For communications, Board President Julie Wendler read and passed around a thank you letter from the elementary teaching staff for the Staff Appreciation Breakfast held on May 3rd and for the gift of the water bottle. She also read a thank you note from Jolyn Miller, thanking the board for the retirement gift of the Etched Glass Bowl and the dinner at Meadowview on May 3rd. Finally, the board discussed the non-renewal of a teacher for the 2016-17 school year. The board unanimously approved non-renewing the teaching contract of Avery Seubert for the 2016-17 school year due to a licensing issue.
