Several Items Approved at Owen City Council Meeting

-It was a relatively quiet night for the Owen City Council at their meeting on Tuesday of last week.The board approved the Police and Public Works Reports as well as their training reports. The council also approved a Mutual Aid Agreement with the City of Thorp and during the Public Opinion portion of the meeting, one resident asked the Public Works Director about the PH levels of the city’s wells. Brad and Jean Gokey were approved by the council as Election Officials until the end of 2017. The council also approved to send Deputy Clerk Carol Devine to the Workhorse Software Workshop and approved to have the Parks & Rec. Committee to move forward with a Goose round up. A group of Citizens were present to express their concerns.
Finally, Owen Police Chief Andrew Schade reported that his department denied the Combination Class B Liquor License to Jeremy Weiler as one of the forms was completed incorrectly, but he stated that the Council may do as they please. Jeremy was present to explain any questions about his back ground. The council approved the Combination Class B Liquor License to Jeremy Weiler and he is required to complete another form correctly for the files.
