Democratic U.S. Senate Candidate Russ Feingold Called his Opponent's Support of Donald Trump Irresponsible

(AP) -Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Russ Feingold is calling his opponent's support of Donald Trump "irresponsible."Sen. Ron Johnson has long said he will support the Republican nominee, even if it's Trump. After a listening session in Madison Friday, Feingold said to media that just because somebody has a political label doesn't mean you have to support them.
Other prominent Republicans, including House Speaker Paul Ryan, have said they can't support Trump at this point. Feingold called Ryan's stance "a little bit of Janesville common-sense." Feingold said Johnson is so desperate to keep his Senate seat he's willing to embrace even Trump. Johnson campaign spokesman Brian Reisinger said Johnson has said for months he intends to support the Republican nominee because Hillary Clinton would be a "disaster" as president.
