Motorcycle Safety An Ongoing Concern

Sunday, May 8th, 2016 -- 10:40 AM

More than a half million Wisconsin residents have a motorcycle license or permit, and with the return of warmer weather, safety is an ongoing concern.

In a Wisconsin DOT press release, as part of National Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month in May, motorists are reminded to be alert for motorcycles especially at intersections, when making turns and lane changes.

Motorcyclists can do their part by wearing visible and protective gear including wearing a helmet, and make sure they have a required Class M endorsement on their license. Riders have two options to get their motorcycle endorsement: Pass a driving skills test at a DMV center - or successfully complete a qualified rider education course.
