38 People Died In Wisconsin Traffic Crashes In April

Saturday, May 7th, 2016 -- 8:06 AM

Preliminary data shows 38 people died in Wisconsin traffic crashes last month.

According to the Wisconsin DOT, that compares to the safest April on record in 2014 with 25 traffic deaths, and the deadliest April in 1973 when 113 people lost their lives in traffic-related crashes. Through the first four months of this year, traffic crashes in Wisconsin claimed 161 lives including 14 pedestrians, four motorcyclists, and three bicyclists.

Transportation safety officials say consistent safety belt use by all drivers and passengers is a key factor in reducing traffic deaths and injuries.
