City of Neillsville Water Quality Report

Wednesday, May 4th, 2016 -- 8:14 AM

-The Neillsville Public Works Department recently released the City of Neillsville Water Quality Report for 2015.

The purpose of the report is to inform Neillsville residents about the quality of the water and services delivered every day. The city had no violations with their water. The routine tests did find very small levels of items like copper, fluoride, lead and nitrate. However, the amounts were miniscule and well below the MCL or Maximum Contaminant Level. A typical person would have to drink 2 liters of water every day for a lifetime with the items at the maximum MCL allowable before any effects were felt.

The city continues to monitor the water and making sure it’s of the highest quality. They’re also working on finding leaks around the system in the plumbing to make sure water isn’t being wasted. They’ve also enacted a Cross Connection Control Program.
