Wisconsin's Attorney General Asks for Emergency Stay of Right-to-Work Law

(AP) -Wisconsin's attorney general has asked an appellate court for an emergency stay of a Dane County judge's ruling striking down the state's right-to-work law.Brad Schimel says Judge William Foust's ruling has created confusion and should be put on hold while an appeal is pending. Schimel said earlier he would seek the stay after failing to get a stay from Foust himself. Right-to-work laws prohibit businesses and unions from reaching agreements that require all workers, not just union members, to pay union dues.
Unions argue that lets non-union workers to benefit from representation for free, and Foust agreed earlier this month. Schimel's appeal is to the Wausau-based 3rd District Court of Appeals.
