Memorial Medical Center Foundation's Healthy Aging Expo, Part 1

Friday, April 29th, 2016 -- 11:28 AM

-The Memorial Medical Center Foundation, BMO Harris Bank, Gesche Funeral Home and Marshfield Monuments have teamed up for a Health Aging Expo.

I spoke with Shelley Janke, Vice President and Executive Director of the Memorial Medical Center Foundation, and she explained when and where the expo will be and what will be offered.

"The event is going to be held on May 4th, which is a Wednesday, and it's from 10am until 3pm. It's an open house format so people can come in at any time and take a peek at all the different vendors and booths that will be there. We wanted to present an event that offered a lot of variety to people so that they can get their questions answered on different problems that they might face as they get older. So, we have experts from attorneys to financial planners to medical professionals that will be there the whole day. Just to set up, have their booth set up and they can come in and answer those questions."

"It's free to attend. There's no charge. We will be offering two speakers during the lunch hour. We call them "Lunch and Learns." We're actually going to have free food as well for the guests. And the speaker at 12:15, Dr. Meyer, will be talking about mental health issues that we might face as we age. And at 12:45 Amy Eddy, who's an estate planning attorney, is going to give us an overview of estate planning 101. Everything you might need to consider from wills to just kind of everything rolled into one big presentation."

Coming up on Monday, we’ll hear about some of the businesses that will be at the expo.
