Quiet Evening for Neillsville City Council

Thursday, April 14th, 2016 -- 8:31 AM

-The Neillsville City Council had a quiet evening at their meeting on Tuesday.

The only action item under new business was the approval of hiring the Assistant Clerk-Treasure for city hall. Barb Boyer, who used to hold that position, took Ellen Clark’s position after she had left. This left an opening with the Assistant Clerk-Treasurer position. During a Personnel Committee meeting on Wednesday, March 30th, the committee approved recommending to the council that they hire Liz Gaier to fill the position. The council then approved this during their meeting on Tuesday.

The council also heard the Heritage Days Committee Report from their meeting on March 31st. They heard an update on the Miss Neillsville Program, discussed the Grand Marshall, sponsorship's, bands, kids games and movie night, tents, food booths and a pub crawl. They also heard a report from the Police and Fire Commission Meeting held on March 31st. At the end of the meeting, the commission approved hiring Glen Slenczka, Paige Opelt, Austin Pederson and Mitchell Miller as firefighters, subject to a one year probation period.
