Greenwood School Board Hears Update on Next School Year's Budget

Thursday, April 14th, 2016 -- 8:29 AM

-The Greenwood School Board heard an update on the next school year’s budget at their meeting on Monday.

Following the successful referendum the work on the 2016-17 budget will shift into high gear. Planning will also begin on prioritizing the maintenance projects to be addressed and the updates for the technology education department. The board accepted the proposal from Schenck to continue to provide audit service for 2016-18. The board also agreed to a MOU with the Marshfield Clinic. Marshfield Clinic will provide a physician to serve as the district’s medical advisor. It was also mentioned that the school schedule for 2016-17 is complete. The schedule, in terms of offerings and sections, is very similar to previous years.

The board also opened, reviewed and discussed lawn care bids. 2 bids were submitted and the board selected Norm’s Lawn Care. Discussion of installation of a handrail at the baseball field was also held. Administration and custodial/maintenance staff will look into options. Gate and fence repair was also completed at the elementary school and the costs will be shared with HeadStart. Finally, letters of Intent for professional staff are being completed. These will be approved at the May 9th meeting and must be given to staff by May 15.
