Local School Districts Receive Funds from J.J. Watt Foundation

-Several local school districts will be receiving some new athletic equipment thanks to the J.J. Watt Foundation.

J.J. Watt is a Wisconsin native and his foundation gives grants to school districts to help pay for things like uniforms, equipment, protective gear and more. The items are donated to middle school students in grades 6-8. In 2015, over $830,000 was donated to schools.

Some local schools selected for the grant include the Neillsville School District receiving $2,665 for baseball and track uniforms, Stanley-Boyd Middle School receiving $2,124.60 for wrestling uniforms, Spencer Middle School receiving $10,637 for football helmets and uniforms and baseball and softball equipment and uniforms and the Owen-Withee Junior High receiving $5,838.95 for basketball and volleyball equipment and uniforms.
