Administrators' Reports at Owen-Withee School Board Meeting

-The Owen-Withee School Board heard the Administrators' reports at their meeting last week.

Elementary Principal Lance Batchelor reported on Parent/Teacher Conferences held October 8th and 12th. 95% of parents attended. Kid's Club, the district's after school program, is underway with 91 students participating. Expectations are that over 100 students will participate as the year goes on. Finally, the annual Halloween parade will be held on Friday, October 30 at 2:30 PM.

Junior/Senior High School Dean of Students Julie Van Ark reported on the One-Act play performances coming up, fall sports wrapping up with VB regional on 10/20 and CC Sectionals and FB playoffs on 10/23. Kallie Falteisek placed fifth at the Cloverbelt Cross Country meet while Mackenzie Person placed 10th.

District Administrator Bob Houts reported on a proposed state bill that would limit school referendums to only days when general elections are held and would prevent a district from going to referendum for two years if a referendum fails. He also notified Mark Gordon and Rick Eloranta that they are up for re-election in April. It was also during this meeting that Mr. Houts announced his retirement to the board, which was effective October 20th.
