Owen-Withee School Board Sets Tax Levy

Saturday, October 24th, 2015 -- 8:37 AM

The Owen-Withee School Board looked at the revised revenue limit worksheet at their meeting on Monday.

The figures discussed earlier in the meeting, including enrollment, property valuation and state aid are the number plugged into the revenue limit worksheet to determine the District's tax levy and mil rate. Plugging the numbers in to the worksheet shows that the district's levy will be $1,850,680, up about $105,000 from last year. But, the mil rate, or taxes per $1000 of property value, is 8.9045 which is down from $9.3111 from last year.

The board also unanimously approved a motion to set the District tax levy for 2015 at $1,850,680 with $1,745,238 going to Fund 10, or the General Fund, $102,000 going to Fund 38, or the Unfunded Pension Liability, and $5000 going to Fund 80, the Community Service.
