Memorial Medical Center and Marshfield Clinic Collaborating to Provide Oncology Specialist, Part 3

-Memorial Medical Center will be offering more services for those in need of an oncology specialist.Memorial Medical Center will be collaborating with Marshfield Clinic to provide oncology specialist hear in Neillsville. MMC's CEO, Ryan Neville, explained when the discussion first began on this collaboration.
"In August, we called a board retreat and we had a half day session with our Board of Directors, which are local community members, with really discussing the options of progressing with specialty care local. And that became our initiative, was specialty care local and how and who do we best coordinate that with."
"And out of that conversation came our two models, which was we would try to employ those that we can employ and those that we are unable to employ, we would first reach out to the Marshfield Clinic as a proximity and as it seems to be one of the highest utilizers of specialty care that our patients prefer to go to. So, since August we've started the conversations for expanding our specialty service line."
Coming up on Thursday, Mr. Neville will elaborate further on some of the benefits of this collaboration.
