Owen City Council Hears Public Works Report

Wednesday, October 21st, 2015 -- 8:14 AM

-The Owen City Council heard the Public Works Report at their recent meeting.

Erik Stinson, Owen's Public Works Director, reported that the DNR was present last week to conduct their annual inspection. Public Works demoed a mini-excavator. Hydrants have been flushed and valves have been exercised. The Hydrant on S. Oak was removed. A water main break occurred on 3rd Street near the RR tracks. Also they have jetted 2,000 feet of sewer main.

He also reported on the culverts on N. West Street. The council approved Erik to contact a resident that lives near there and Ovyn Trucking and get the new culverts installed yet this year. Finally, the Owen-Withee Booster Club recently added the 2014 Football Championship to the three school signs in Owen and Withee. There is a fourth sign on County Highway D on the north side of town. It is not known if it is a City or School sign and the council tabled the issue until it is decided whose sign it is.
