-The Neillsville City Council heard the public works report at their meeting on Tuesday of last week. The usual amount of work was done in the city including street sweeping, equipment maintenance, mowing grass, hauling brush and compost, opening/cleaning storm drains, changed parking signs on East 5th Street, set up/took down barricades for Autumn Harvest Fest and more.
Public Works Director Dave Flynn also stated that the airport project is moving along and is 85%-90% complete. He also said that the sewer had sludge haulers in and emptied the tanks, they turned over the compost at the old landfill and hauled fill to the old landfill for erosion control and fill.
Dave also mentioned that they've begun to pick up leaves in the city. He said that they're only going to pick up leaves and if residents have dog feces or sticks in the pile, they'll leave it on your lawn. Also, they said they'll come around to each location twice, so don't rush out and rake after they've gone by because they won't be back until later.
