Clark County Area Food Pantry and Resource Center In Need of Donations

Friday, October 16th, 2015 -- 10:57 AM

-With the holiday season fast approaching, the Clark County Area Food Pantry and Resource Center is in need of donations.

The new food pantry opened back in April and they serve many families in need. The families are not only Neillsville residents, but they've seen an increase in families coming from other areas of the county as well. For September, they distributed 4,362 pounds of food and they've been averaging that since their opening.

As the name states, the food pantry is also a resource center, offering information on employment and other items to support families in a caring way and help them become self-sufficient. They had 162 volunteer hours in September and they also have a few regular donors in the city, like Kwik Trip and Gordy's, and they know of some other food drives coming up, but in the interim, they're looking to keep the shelves stocked for those in need.

Donating is easy. You can drop off food during their open hours on Tuesday from 9am-2pm and Thursday from 1-6pm at their location on West 5th Street. They will also have an after-hours drop off location soon. And you can go to their Facebook page and make a monetary donation with their PayPal account.
