UPDATE: Names of Individuals Involved in Head On Crash Near Chili Released

-Clark County authorities are investigating a two vehicle crash that took the life of
one of the drivers.

On October 14th, at about 05:59 am, the Clark County Sheriff's Office received a 9-1-1 call of an accident on US Highway 10 east of County Highway Y in the Township of Fremont. The initial investigation indicates that a red Pontiac Sunfire, driven by 53-year-old Troy Rowe of Mosinee, was traveling west on US Highway 10 when he crossed into the east bound lane and struck a vehicle, a red Chevy Cobalt driven by 53-year-old Cheryl Ganther of Neillsville, traveling east. The Chevy came to rest in the south ditch and the Pontiac came to rest in the north ditch.

Rowe died at the scene. Ganther was extricated from the vehicle and transported by the Spirit Air Helicopter to the St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield for incapacitating injuries.

The Clark County Sheriff's Office, Wisconsin State Patrol, Wood County Sheriff's Office, Chili Fire and First Responders, the Saint Joseph's Hospital Spirit Air helicopter, Marshfield Ambulance and the Clark County Coroner responded to the scene. The Clark County Sheriff's and Coroner's Office and the Wisconsin State Patrol are continuing the investigation into the crash. This is the third fatality for Clark County in 2015. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the accident.
