One Person Killed in Head On Crash Near County Highway Y in Clark County

-Clark County authorities are investigating a two vehicle crash that took the life ofone of the drivers.
On October 14th, at about 05:59 am, the Clark County Sheriff's Office received a 9-1-1 call of an accident on US Highway 10 east of County Highway Y in the Township of Fremont. The initial investigation indicates that a red Pontiac Sunfire, was traveling west on US Highway 10 when it crossed into the east bound lane and struck a vehicle, a red Chevy Cobalt, traveling east. The Chevy came to rest in the south ditch and the Pontiac going west came to rest in the north ditch.
The driver of the Pontiac died at the scene. The driver of the Chevy was extricated from the vehicle and transported by the Spirit Air Helicopter to the St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield
for incapacitating injuries.
The Clark County Sheriff's Office, Wisconsin State Patrol, Wood County Sheriff's Office, Chili Fire and First Responders, the Saint Joseph's Hospital Spirit Air helicopter, Marshfield Ambulance and the Clark County Coroner responded to the scene. The Clark County Sheriff's and Coroner's Office and the Wisconsin State Patrol are continuing the investigation into the crash. This is the Third
fatality for Clark County in 2015.
The both drivers information is being withheld pending notification of family
members. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the accident.
