Fairgrounds Lease and Health Insurance at the Clark County Board of Supervisors Meeting

-The Clark County Board of Supervisors approved leasing county land at the Clark County Fairgrounds at their meeting on Thursday.The board approved leasing the land to SBA Towers IX, LLC. The proposal would put up a 199' self-supporting monopole communications tower at the fairgrounds. SBA Towers will cover the costs associated with the project and the county will enter into a 55 year lease with the company. The county also may have full use of the ground and tower space per the agreement.
The county also approved revising a section of the Clark County Employee Handbook in regards to the county retiree health insurance continuation. Effective January 1st of next year, the county will be eliminating eligibility for health insurance continuation upon retirement in order to help reduce health care costs on current employees. Employees that retired already will continue to receive the benefits and employees that retire before the start date will receive the benefits.
