Administrators' Reports at Owen-Withee School Board Meeting

-The Owen-Withee School Board heard the Administrators' Reports at their meeting last week.Jr/Sr High School Dean of Students Julie VanArk discussed the start to the school year and the 7th grade orientation night held on August 26th. On Wednesday, September 16th, Mrs. Scheuer and 35 high school students will be going to Spring Green to see Othello at the American Players Theater. A special thank you to Mrs. Nancy Amacher for donating funds to pay for the busing costs for the trip. She also mentioned that Homecoming is this week and the first round of Parent/Teacher Conferences will be held on Monday, October 5th from 4-8pm.
District Administrator Bob Houts reported on two bills in the Assembly that might impact Board members. The first is AB 217, which would allow school board members to do some limited duties in the district such as coach, officiate or volunteer. AB 244 is a bill that would allow a Board president to appoint a board member to fill a seat that becomes vacant. Finally, Mr. Houts notified the Board that Larry Herington and Dan Olszewski will be inducted into the Owen-Withee Alumni Hall of Fame at the Homecoming Pep Rally on Sept. 25th at 1:30pm.
