Thorp Man Dies in Bridge Construction Accident

(AP) ?One of the construction workers that died while working on the Bong Bridge between Duluth and Superior was from Thorp.The Minnesota State Patrol said a construction worker died and another was injured while working on the bridge. The worker that died was 18-year-old Kelsey Hagenson of Thorp.
Authorities say the incident happened about 7 a.m. Monday on the Highway 2 bridge, which is in the second year of a major reconstruction. The State Patrol says both workers are employed by Lunda Construction and the accident involved a forklift.
Both eastbound lanes of the bridge, and one westbound lane, have been closed all summer because of the construction project.
