Owen-Withee School Board Approves Insurance Renewal

-The Owen-Withee School Board approved their insurance renewal at their meeting last week.CIC Insurance provided the District with quotes for their insurances that will be almost $5000 less than last year. The board unanimously approved continuing their current insurance policies. The board also unanimously approved a line of credit with Forward Financial to help the district meet payrolls and to pay bills while they await aid and tax payments throughout the year.
The board finished off their meeting by hearing the Administrators' Report. Elementary Principal Lance Batchelor reported on the Open House held on August 26th and the kickoff of the PBIS program that included a day of learning rules and expectations and a playground rodeo. September 18th was Grandparent's day in the elementary school from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM. Picture Day is also this week for the district.
District Literacy assessments have begun in the elementary and expected to be completed by the end of September. Finally, Mr. Batchelor talked to the board about introducing an archery unit to the 4th-6th grade students.
