New Sentencing Date for Clark County Man Accused of Sexually Assaulting a Young Girl

Monday, September 21st, 2015 -- 11:18 AM

-A Clark County man had his sentencing date for charges of sexually assaulting a young girl moved to December.

In September of 2014, an 8-year-old girl came forward and said the man, from Chili, sexually assaulted her 40 to 50 times within the past year and a half. The man did admit to investigators that he touched the girl, but he said that she asked him to do it.

The man was found guilty, due to a no contest plea, in Clark County Court back in May during a plea hearing. During the man's court case on Friday, the defense attorney asked that the sentencing be moved because they weren't ready to argue sentencing that day. It was denied, but due to some other requests by the defense, the date was moved to the end of December. However, because of that, the state did ask for a higher bond. The judge agreed and imposed a $5,000 cash bond.
