Clark County Board Passes Resolutions

Saturday, April 25th, 2015 -- 8:36 AM

The Clark County Board of Supervisors approved several resolutions at their meeting on Wednesday.

One resolution passed was showing opposition to Governor Walker's budget that would place a moratorium on new land purchases through the Knowles-Nelson Stewardship Land Acquisition Grant Program until 2028. The county asks that the moratorium be lifted and funding restored to its original amount.

Another resolution passed was showing opposition to Governor Walker's budget that includes county wide assessment initiatives. Under the budget, assessment of property values would be handled by counties for all but cities of 1st and 2nd classes. This means Clark County would handle all of the property assessments, but with no funds allocated by the state. Rough projections show that this would add an estimated cost of $750,000 to the county levy.

The board also approved a resolution allowing the county to apply for a grant that would help pay the $27,491.30 needed to move a snowmobile trail due to flooding and safety concerns and they approved a transfer of funds in the county budget.
