Stanley Woman Makes Initial Appearance for Stealing from her Former Employer

-A Stanley woman accused of stealing from her employer and its customers appeared in Chippewa County Court on Tuesday.According to the Stanley Police Department, the manager of the BP Gas Station in Stanley noticed an irregularity in the businesses deposits. Officers questioned Jeanne Williams, an employee of the store, and she admitted to them that she stole from the store and overcharged customers and kept the extra money.
She said she initially did it because she had mounting doctor bills to pay, but she also said that she felt a rush when she stole. She stole nearly $50,000 in total. During her initial appearance on Tuesday, a $750 signature bond was set and she is not allowed to have any contact with the store. She'll be back in court next month.
