Owen-Withee School Board Discussions

The Owen-Withee School Board discussed the Legislative Meeting held in Medford at their meeting earlier this week.Rick Eloranta and Dean Schmelzer discussed the Legislative Forum that was held in Medford on March 30th. Three assembly representatives and two state senators who represent area school district were on hand to hear from board members and school representatives about state education issues such and the expansion of private school vouchers, state required testing, fund 80, and the proposed state budget. Both Rick and Dean expressed that they were impressed with the fact that these legislators attended, listened and showed support for many of the ideas that were shared.
The board also went over election results. Because Julie Wendler, Paul Heggemeier and Angela
Greschner ran unopposed there wasn't much to report. The Board congratulated all three winners and welcomed Angela, who is replacing Dee Wells, to the Board.
