National Library Week, Final

Friday, April 17th, 2015 -- 10:38 AM

-This week is National Library Week.

Jo Ann Gustavson, the Neillsville Public Library Director, talked about some of the upcoming events being held at the library.

She said, "Upcoming events are April 18th at 10am at The Highground is Unconditional Surrender. Also, upcoming on Saturday May 30th from 9am until Noon, we're going to have Mark Moran come and, hopefully, do some appraisals of items that people bring in. And that cost for that is $15 per item of which the library will keep $5 as a fundraiser. And last time we did this we were able to keep over $200."

"There's a lot of programs that we offer. I started offering an adult reading program this year. And for every book an adult read, they could sign a little slip with their name and phone number and I will draw two out of there and those two winners will get a $25 chamber certificate."

"The summer reading program is coming up beginning in June. The summer program is for children 4 to 12 years old and the theme is every hero has a story. And Kathy usually has performers or a craft day most Wednesdays. Performers are in the evening, crafts are in the afternoon. And she usually throws in two or three story hours which will be on Thursday morning."
